Meet Tharusha: The Man Who Refused to Write His Own Blog

Meet Tharusha, the helpful, philosophical, and famously procrastinating member of ClapTac. From helping juniors and running Kuppi sessions to turning simple questions into deep conversations, he’s always there when you need him — just don’t expect him to write his own blog.

Every team has that one person who is smart, always willing to help, and somehow manages to get things done at the very last possible moment.

For us, that person is Tharusha.

A fellow Computer Science undergraduate, Tharusha is the kind of person you can usually count on when something needs to get done. He spends his time helping juniors, conducting Kuppi sessions, explaining things to people who are struggling, and generally being the person everyone seems to know when they need help.

Among the juniors, he has even earned a title of his own:

“T Bro.”

And honestly, it fits.

He's smart, helpful, and surprisingly philosophical for someone who spends a significant portion of his life procrastinating until the last possible moment.

Because if you've ever texted Tharusha, you already know what we're talking about.

Ask him a simple question, and there is a non-zero chance that you'll receive a paragraph that starts as an answer and somehow evolves into a philosophical reflection on life, people, existence, or something else you absolutely did not ask about.

And yet, somehow, you end up reading the entire thing.

The Blog That Never Happened

Which brings us to an interesting question.

If Tharusha clearly enjoys writing philosophical paragraphs, why couldn't he write one small blog post?

We may never know.

We asked him to write it.

He said he would.

We asked again.

He said he would.

We waited.

Nothing.

We asked again.

Still nothing.

At this point, we started wondering whether the problem was that Tharusha didn't like writing.

Perhaps he simply didn't like writing this particular thing.

After enough reminders, we eventually had to accept the truth:

Tharusha was not going to write his blog.

So naturally, we decided to write it for him.

The Man Behind the Procrastination

Jokes aside, Tharusha is one of those people who quietly becomes important to the people around him.

He's the person juniors approach when they don't understand something.

He's the person willing to sit down and explain a difficult concept.

He's the person who can turn a simple question into a twenty-minute conversation.

And he's someone who has always been willing to help the people around him.

That's probably why the procrastination is something we can joke about.

Because when it actually matters, Tharusha shows up.

Just... probably at the last possible moment.

So, What's the Lesson?

We've learned a few things from knowing Tharusha.

If you need help, ask Tharusha.

If you need something explained, ask Tharusha.

If you want a philosophical discussion about a question you asked in one sentence, definitely ask Tharusha.

But if you need something written by Tharusha?

Give him a deadline.

And if you want a blog post from Tharusha...

Good luck.
